Bringing together education partners to start off the school year…

We were happy to organize a successful event this afternoon at the Haviland Club in Charlottetown that saw the Minister of Education, Early Learning and Culture, the chairs of the English and French language school boards, the Superintendent of the English Language School Board, the President of the PEI Teachers Federation, the heads of the CUPE Local 3260 (Educational Assistants, Youth Service Workers, Student Attendants and Work Place Assistants), CUPE Local 1145 (School Bus Drivers and Mechanics) and CUPE Local 1775 (School Cleaning and Maintenance) and selected trustees and senior staff together for an informal coffee-and-biscuits meeting.

Our goal was simply to get everyone in the same room, with faces put to names, to start this new school year off in a collaborative spirit. Thanks to all who attended in that spirit.

Our education system truly is a partnership, and we are capable of great things when we work together; this informal meeting was PEI Home and School Federation's small effort to help us all keep that in the forefront of our minds.
