Local Home and School Associations are asked to register delegates for the P.E.I. Home and School Federation's AGM & Conference to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, 8:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Dutch Inn /Howard Johnson Hotel, Cornwall, 100 Trans-Canada Highway, PEI.
Everyone is welcome! Parents and Teachers are welcome to attend the AGM with each Home and School Association designating five of its attendees as voting delegates. A registration fee of $30 per person applies which covers meeting materials and the buffet luncheon.
Hon. Alan McIsaac, Minister Education and Early Childhood Development, and Sandy MacDonald, Deputy Minister, will present the department's new plans for Improving Student Success. Doug MacDougall, Director Curriculum Delivery, English Language School Board, will present new Strategic Plan on Student Achievement. A question and answer period will follow these presentations.
Reserve a hotel room (566-2211 or 1-800-915-4656) for your Home and School's delegates to stay overnight Friday, April 11th.
Three afternoon workshop presentations will be offered 1:45 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Workshops: Computing & Robotics Lego WeDo Technology with Ricardo Angel; Student Achievement System with Sean Cain, and Project Ideas & How To Write Parent Leadership Grant Proposals with Jean Davis. Please sign up in advance.
Business and Non-Profit displays will be set up for viewing between 8:15 a.m. and 12 noon. A number of door prizes are donated by Island businesses. Home and School Associations/individuals may also donate a door prize.
Patron, H. Frank Lewis, Lieutenant Governor will join us and bring greetings during the luncheon at 12:30 p.m.
