Karen Clare, Regional Director of the PEI Home and School Federation for the Bluefield Family of Schools, represented the Federation at the PEI Science Fair this week, and selected two recipients of the PEI Home and School Prize, awarded to projects that “focus on the total well-being of children, including health, safety and learning.”

Teachers and school staff spend countless hours building into the lives of our most precious resources. These individuals can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning! Home and School Associations in Prince Edward Island will join together the week of February 12 - 16 to honour and celebrate the people who work with our children on a daily basis to inspire and prepare them for life.
Parents, students and community members have been celebrating Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week right across Canada since 1988.
On Jan 29, 1953, more than one hundred delegates from local home and school associations across the province came together at Prince of Wales College in downtown Charlottetown (now the site of Holland College).
Celebrate Teachers/Staff Appreciation Week, February 12 - 16, 2018. Home and Schools are reminded to celebrate all school staff during this week of recognition. The Federation will present Extra Mile Awards during the week to recognize school staff who go the ‘extra mile’ for students.
President’s Annual Reports
The Annual Book of Reports is being compiled for circulation at the Annual Meeting in April. Presidents are asked to submit your Home and School Association’s Annual Report to the Federation by February 28, 2018. Don’t hesitate to call the Federation office for assistance. At the final meeting of the Home and School Federation of 2017, each board member brought forward an example of something meaningful they have done in the past year as a result of their membership in home and school.
The work of the P.E.I Home and School Federation in 2017 has focused on the importance of collaboration and healthy school communities in our work toward the wellbeing and education of all Island children.
