State of Mathematics Address

Dr. Tess Miller, Assistant Professor, University of Prince Edward Island's Faculty of Education will present a State of Mathematics Address, Friday, January 17, 2014, 1:30 p.m., Room 242, McDougall Hall, UPEI.

Dr. Miller encourages parents who are interested in mathematics education to attend the presentation.

The impact of low math ability affects students' success at UPEI as well as their career options.  As a community we can review factors influencing student math ability, discuss research that shows the importance of developing students' early numeracy concepts, and discuss strategies for intervention.

Dr. Miller is a member of UPEI's Faculty of Education where she teaches mathematics education, assessment, and quantitative statistics.

This session is open to the public.
