Classroom teachers, administrators, educational assistants, administration assistants, custodians, school bus drivers and crossing guards are central to every single school community in Prince Edward Island. Each day, they come to school ready to tackle a job that is critically important, extraordinarily complex, often joyful, and, at times, heartbreaking. These key people partner with parents to help students reach their potential and become the best citizens possible, people who positively impact their communities anywhere in the world.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is celebrated annually during the second week of February in schools across Canada. Parents, students and others in our school communities take time to recognize the work of these individuals and the significant contribution that they make to the success of students.
