#2.  Meghan Etchell – Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports

PEI schools are launching a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) pilot program, with a strong focus on Tier 1 supports to promote positive student behavior and create supportive learning environments.
This universal level of support emphasizes clear expectations, proactive strategies, and school-wide initiatives to foster a culture of respect and responsibility. Schools will use data-driven decision-making to guide implementation and assess the program’s impact. The pilot aims to enhance student well-being, improve academic outcomes, and build a more inclusive and supportive school culture across the province.

#3  Chad Morash & Shelby McCarron – Gaming/Gambling Addictions

The Gambling Support Unit (GSU) through the Department of Health and Wellness is delivering school presentations on youth gaming and gambling to help students understand the risks of excessive play. These interactive sessions explore gaming habits, loot boxes, in-game purchased and the connection between gaming and gambling behaviours.
The presentations also provide practical strategies for maintaining a healthy balance and recognizing signs of problematic gaming. This initiative aligns with the GSU’s commitment to education, harm prevention and supporting youth in making informed decisions.
