Report recommends enhancements to senior high school model

“The future prosperity of our province relies on our students and we need to ensure that we are providing our high school students with the skills that will enable them to meet the ongoing demands of life,” said Minister McIsaac.
In November 2011, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development announced the creation of Senior High Working Group. The group was established to examine the province’s senior high school system and make recommendations that would ensure all students are able to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to full participate in today’s world. The working group set out to redefine the current graduation requirements for Island students and create an action plan that will guide teaching and learning in the senior high school system.
