Help My Child Website Launch
PRESS RELEASE – Charlottetown: “Help My Child” website was launched December 2nd by the Prince Edward Island Home and School Federation. The website offers a PEI-based resource for parents, students and the community that focuses on the total health and well being of children and youth. The site assists anyone wanting to connect individuals in need of help with the right person, professional or other type of resource.
Areas of help are included under categories such as: Bullying, Cyber Bullying, Educational Supports, Mental Health, Physical Health, Substance Abuse, Violence and Abuse. A wide range of helpful information is provided from a range of substance abuse to study and homework helps.
A “Not sure where to look?’ section is a helpful feature. Questions can be submitted through the website and redirected to find the right person or resource, to help the person asking the question find a solution.
“Through many conversations and discussions with parents and teachers we realized accessing information and supports needed to help our children was a time consuming challenge. The P.E.I. Home and School Federation sought to create a portal website that we hope will make accessing important information easier and timely. With the financial assistance of the Telus Community Fund and the creative talents of the staff at Revolution Media, Help My Child has been created.” says Pam Montgomery, President of the P.E.I. Home and School Federation.
This project is sponsored by the TELUS Community Boards Fund and coordinated by the Prince Edward Island Home and School Federation You can find Help My Child at: www.helpmychild.ca
