• 2018 Recognition Awards
  Nominate a deserving individual such as school staff, Home and School volunteer, school bus driver
  or school crossing guard for provincial recognition in 2018. Four award nomination deadlines are:
  Extra Mile Award of the Year            January 12, 2018 
  Volunteer of the Year                         March 9, 2018 
  Life Membership                                 March 9, 2018 
  School Crossing Guard of the Year    April 27, 2018 
  School Bus Driver of the Year           May 11, 2018

• School Staff Appreciation Week 2018
  School staff will be celebrated across Canada February 12 – 16, 2018 during Staff Appreciation Week. Home and School groups
  are encouraged to show appreciation to school staff for the contributions they make to our children and their education.

• Resolutions
  Deadline to submit a resolution for consideration at the 2018 AGM is January 31, 2018.  Consider issues
  needing change in PEI’s education system and write a resolution on that issue by referring to our
  guide to writing and presenting resolutions and to the slides from the Leadership Training Workshop session on resolutions

Send your Home and School’s membership fee to the Federation office by November 30^th.

• Food Education Grants

Congratulations to schools and community groups who received Community Food Security and Food Education projects
including East Wiltshire, Charlottetown Rural, Morell High, Morell Consolidated, Westisle, and Tignish.

• Report on State of Public Health in Canada

        Dr. Theresa Tam, Chief Public Health Officer Public Health Agency of Canada released her
       Report on the State of Public Health in Canada, 2017: Designing Healthy Living on Oct. 26, 2017.

• The Global Alliance for the Future of Food
  Webinar: Unravelling the Food-Health Nexus: Building a Healthier Food System.
