1.       Training Workshops for Volunteers

Home and School volunteer training workshops are scheduled as follows:

Dates/Locations:       

    Wednesday, September 26              Elm Street Elementary School, 256 Elm Street Summerside

    Thursday, September 27                 Spring Park Elementary School, 30 Dunkirk Street, Charlottetown

Time:  7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

No Cost!  Light refreshments will be provided. Professionals, Vicki Bryanton and Stephen Gould, will lead these workshops. Join other volunteers and ask questions about how to run a Home & School organization and discuss what’s happening in other schools.

2.       Semi-Annual Meeting

WHEN:  Tuesday, October 23th  6:00 PM – 8.00 PM

WHERE:  Central Queens Elementary School, Hunter River

WHO:  Open to anyone in your school community

WHAT:  An opportunity to share resources and ideas, discuss issues and opportunities, and build connections within the Home and School community on P.E.I.

More details will be circulated to the membership by the end of September.

 

3.       Cannabis Talk Kits: Know how to talk with your Teen

Drug Free Kids Canada is offering free information kits on how to talk with your child about drugs. Order online at:  https://www.drugfreekidscanada.org/  Parents who provide their kids with balanced information about the effects associated with cannabis can help them make informed decisions. If your school community is interested in hosting a presentation, led by professionals, on how to talk to kids about use of cannabis, contact the federation office at 620-3186/1-800-916-0664. 

 

4.         Home & School Parent Leadership Grants

5.         New school year good time to get involved. Upcoming weeks feature variety of events, including leadership training and semi-annual.
